Say hello to...Bare Minerals Makeup.

Ok, so I recommended Everyday Minerals in the past. It's not a bad company, and is dedicated to being gluten-free. However, since visiting Canada briefly I've had the opportunity to experiment with other brands. I visited Sephora, bought the Bare Minerals Start-up Kit, and am sold. I don't think I could possibly go back to using another brand. Bare Minerals is a gluten-free line from Bare Escentuals. The powder goes on so smoothly and so natural, that it's barely there. Seriously. I've used the foundation, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, AND eyeliner. It's all so natural and so pleasing to the face. I couldn't recommend a better company. Seriously.

Say goodbye to...MAC cosmetics.

I usually talk about things that ARE gluten-free, but it can be equally useful in knowing what ISN'T gluten-free. Before I realized that eyeshadows and mascara could contain gluten, I used MAC. After contacting the company and receiving a response MUCH later, I learned that the following products contained gluten: splashproof mascara, star violet eye shadow (barley and wheat germ extract), and all that glitters eye shadow (barley and wheat germ extract). From that point on I decided ONLY to use makeup from companies that had a gf line of makeup. If you're looking for that kind of company check out Afterglow Cosmetics or Everyday Minerals.

Say hello to...Origins liquid lip color.

Although I prefer to stick to cosmetic companies that label their makeup as gluten-free and provide a whole line of gluten-free makeup, I have to say that I just might continue to purchase Origins Liquid Lip Color. My friend recently bought me one as a gift, thinking that it definitely wouldn't have gluten in it. I contacted the company, and sure enough it doesn't contain any gluten. I have since used it and love the way it looks and smells. It has some kind of mentholeum ingredient in it that feels great on the lips. Rather than using gluten in the ingredients they use oryza sativa (rice) germ oil and glycine soja (soybean) oil.
